Words on Wednesday 11th December 2024

 Dear Writers,


Penni and I would like to thank all of you for coming along to the Book Launch, we had a wonderful time and hope you did as well.  If you were unable to attend the Book Launch to collect your free book, please do not worry as we have put your copy aside for you to collect whenever you are able to.  If you would prefer we send it to you, please email us separately with the details and I can arrange for it to be posted out to you.

Firstly, we would like to thank all the Sponsors and their generosity in helping to get the book published.

A huge thank you to Matt Holland who did an amazing job as Compere and a wonderful poem written and read out by Tony Hillier, thank you.

Thank you to Anna, who put her time and effort in creating the Book Launch.

Thank you to Claire, who helped out with the Meet and Greet and to all the other Volunteers and Contributors at the event, we couldn't have done it without all of you.

We wouldn't be where we are today without the wonderful generosity of The Swindon Hub who allow us to hold the group every Wednesday free of charge.

Please note that we cannot confirm dates until we receive the Artswords Newsletter on the 1st  day of each month, so we really appreciate your patience.  Just a reminder that the Artswords Writer's Kitchen and Artswords Writer's Cafe now cost £2 per session, but grants are available for those who cannot afford the costs.

There will be NO Artswords Writer's Kitchen and NO Artswords Writer's Cafe during December.  Artswords will resume in January 2025.

We hope you all have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year and you get to celebrate with the people you care about.

Please remember, everyone is welcome to the group and if you would feel more comfortable with a carer, family or friend present, they are welcome to join in with the writing as well.

Don't forget you are welcome to bring family and friends along.  We are very excited and looking forward to seeing you there.

Words from the Hub 2 - Call out

WORDS FROM THE HUB 2 - EXTRA TASKS: We are looking for Writers and Artists to submit up to 2 pieces of work, as we are lookingbto   produce Words From The Hub 2, Extra Tasks: and Other Things. When you submit up to 2 pieces of your work, please adhere to this, because if more are submitted   you will be asked to re-select the 2 you want, then re-submit them. Words from the Hub 2 Book Launch

WOW! What a successful book launch yesterday😀📚✍️✍️.  We would like to thank everyone who made it so much fun!  Firstly to the Swindon Hub for use of the space and all the writers and artists who contributed to the book. Matt Holland from Swindon Festival of Literature , Swindon Artswords who was an ace compere, and Councillor Marina Eastcott who made a passionate speech. Our readers Gorrrdon, Elizabeth, Stuart, Sarah, Ross who all read their own work from the book and Penni who read a piece by M Spirit. Hub volunteer Nick helped with the sound system, and setting up the room. Thanks also to  Bruce Clarke and the Move - Breathe - Smile : Qigong for all , who gave up their usual 12.00pm time slot so that this launch could happen🙏 The book was made possible by the work of many volunteers, particularly Sarah who single handedly did most of the typesetting and our lovely sponsors; Stuart Lloyd Gould , The Anxiety Society Publishing Proprietary, Bernice Seviour, Penni Se...
