Please note that we cannot confirm dates until we receive the Artswords Newsletter on the 1st  day of each month, so we really appreciate your patience.  Just a reminder that the Artswords Writer's Kitchen and Artswords Writer's Cafe now cost £2 per session, but grants are available for those who cannot afford the costs.

There will be NO Artswords Writer's Kitchen and NO Artswords Writer's Cafe during December.  Artswords will resume in January 2025.

This week's Extra Task:
HALCYON DAYS
An expression that refers to a time in the past that was happy and successful - memories from the age of 8 - 13 years old.

For example, my happy memories were getting my new bike and roller skates (second hand), but they were new to me.  Christmases in London with my family, outings to Swanage with my mum's friends and their children.

What are your happy and successful memories?  We will read them out when Words on Wednesday return on the 8th January 2025.

We hope you all have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year and you get to celebrate with the people you care about.

Please remember, everyone is welcome to the group and if you would feel more comfortable with a carer, family or friend present, they are welcome to join in with the writing as well.

We are very excited and looking forward to seeing you there.

Words from the Hub 2 - Call out

WORDS FROM THE HUB 2 - EXTRA TASKS: We are looking for Writers and Artists to submit up to 2 pieces of work, as we are lookingbto   produce Words From The Hub 2, Extra Tasks: and Other Things. When you submit up to 2 pieces of your work, please adhere to this, because if more are submitted   you will be asked to re-select the 2 you want, then re-submit them. We want to give everyone the chance to submit the same amount of writing. We have correlated some Extra Tasks, but please remember, the selection below is a guideline. Words from the Hub 2 Book Launch

WOW! What a successful book launch yesterday😀📚✍️✍️.  We would like to thank everyone who made it so much fun!  Firstly to the Swindon Hub for use of the space and all the writers and artists who contributed to the book. Matt Holland from Swindon Festival of Literature , Swindon Artswords who was an ace compere, and Councillor Marina Eastcott who made a passionate speech. Our readers Gorrrdon, Elizabeth, Stuart, Sarah, Ross who all read their own work from the book and Penni who read a piece by M Spirit. Hub volunteer Nick helped with the sound system, and setting up the room.
