Dear Writers,

Please note that we cannot confirm dates until we receive the Artswords Newsletter on the 1st  day of each month, so we really appreciate your patience.  Just a reminder that the Artswords Writer's Kitchen and Artswords Writer's Cafe now cost £2 per session, but grants are available for those who cannot afford the costs.

26th February: Creating Characters - How to kill off a character?

DATES TO REMEMBER:
Unfortunately, going forward, the Oooh Beehive - Open Mic sessions on the first Sunday of every month will no longer be taking place, this event has been cancelled for the foreseeable future.  If we hear differently, we will of course let you know.

FEBRUARY 2025
Festival of Tomorrow - Wednesday 12th to Sunday 23rd February
There are over 150 events and activities for all ages, across Swindon and Online.
This year is the biggest ever programme of family-friendly performances, immersive experiences, drop-in activities and hands-on workshops right across Swindon.

All of the children's tickets are FREE, and most adult events too, thanks to the support of incredible partners.
If, for any reason, you are not in a position to pay for Festival Finale Tickets, please do get in touch, and we will be happy to issue FREE tickets to you.

Many of the shows and events fill up, and may fill up fast, so book soon to avoid disappointment.

Please remember, everyone is welcome to the group and if you would feel more comfortable with a carer, family or friend present, they are welcome to join in with the writing as well.

Words from the Hub 2 - Call out

WORDS FROM THE HUB 2 - EXTRA TASKS: We are looking for Writers and Artists to submit up to 2 pieces of work, as we are lookingbto   produce Words From The Hub 2, Extra Tasks: and Other Things. When you submit up to 2 pieces of your work, please adhere to this, because if more are submitted   you will be asked to re-select the 2 you want, then re-submit them. Words from the Hub 2 Book Launch

WOW! What a successful book launch yesterday😀📚✍️✍️.  We would like to thank everyone who made it so much fun!  Firstly to the Swindon Hub for use of the space and all the writers and artists who contributed to the book. Matt Holland from Swindon Festival of Literature , Swindon Artswords who was an ace compere, and Councillor Marina Eastcott who made a passionate speech. Our readers Gorrrdon, Elizabeth, Stuart, Sarah, Ross who all read their own work from the book and Penni who read a piece by M Spirit. Hub volunteer Nick helped with the sound system, and setting up the room.
