Please note that we cannot confirm Artswords dates until we receive Artswords Newsletter on the 1st day of each month, so we really appreciate your patience.  Just a reminder that the Artswords Writer's Kitchen and Artswords Writer's Cafe now cost £2 per session, but grants are available for those who cannot afford the costs.

This week's Extra Task:
Write a piece from the Cox's point of view.  Oxford won the Boat Race in 14 minutes, 30 seconds.

If I were: A mountain.
Main Task: George Mallory was born on the 18th June 1886, and was an English Mountaineer who participated in the first three British Mount Everest expeditions.  He was famous for his pioneering attempts to scale Mount Everest. George and his partner Andrew "Sandy" Irvine, disappeared on the mountain. On the 1st May 1999, his body was recovered from the North Face of Mount Everest, at an elevation of 26,760 feet, he was fully preserved.  TASK:  Write a piece about being a pioneering person, and the problems facing climbing Mount Everest, or about the challenges you face making your dreams come true as a pioneering person.

Poetry in the Pub
When:  Every last Wednesday of the month.
Time:  7.30pm to 9.30pm
Where: The Pulpit, 7 Devizes Road, Old Town, SN1 4BJ

This is a very exciting evening, where you can sit back, relax, enjoy a drink and listen to a wonderful evening of verse with resident, and guest poets, plus open spots.  What a wonderful way to relax, and enjoy your evening after a really busy day.  For further information email: poemogram@hotmail.com

Words on Whitworth
When:  Friday 26th June

This is a wonderful event for aspiring Artists, Poets, and Writers with amazing people who can help nurture their artistic gifts.  It's presented by Podpadstudios, and Zozo Thomas at the magical Mulbery Gardens.  It features a poetry writing class led by Poet in Residence, Peter Pod, followed by an exciting Open Mic session - even though entry is FREE you must reserve your Free Entry Ticket or register the website below to manage the limited capacity.  Refreshments are available for a small donation.  There are a lot of wonderful interactive events detailed in the Artswords Newsletter below.  You will also see further Dates for your Diary on the Poster.
