Who are we?
Words on Wednesday is a Creative Writing Group run by volunteers at The Swindon Hub that meets every week.
What do we do?
Members do writing exercise prompts and share work, but only if they want to, there is NO pressure to write or read aloud.Group Guidelines
We are inclusive and we support, encourage, respect each other’s opinions and we listen when people are reading. We are here to help build confidence. We sometimes share and discuss personal feelings and experiences, as we understand the therapeutic value of writing.
This is a Safe Space where EVERYONE is Welcome and EVERYONE has a voice.

Is there an age limit?
The group is for adults - anyone over 18 can attend.
Is there Confidentiality?
Confidentiality is paramount and what is said within the group, stays within the group.Where do we meet?
Every Wednesday upstairs at the Swindon Hub, 36 The Parade, Swindon, SN1 1BA.How much does it cost?
It’s a FREE Writing Group there is no charge.How do I know what is going on?

What happens during the meeting?
A couple of times a year, we invite local authors to visit the Group, however our usual format is:-
10:30 - 10:40 Introduction and If I Were task *
10:40 - 10:55 Shares from the previous week, or any work to be shared.
10:55 - 11:10 Main Writing Task.
11:10 - 11:25 Shares of Main Writing Task.
11:25 - 11:30 Finish up and Extra Task.
* The If I were task is when we go around the table introducing ourselves. Each week there is a different topic. We say “My name is ________and If I were ________ I would be ________. For example: My name is Anna and If I were some form of weather, I would be Sunshine.
