Words on Wednesday - 15th July 2026

 Dear Writers,

Please note that we cannot confirm Artswords dates until we receive Artswords Newsletter on the 1st day of each month, so we really appreciate your patience.  Just a reminder that the Artswords Writer's Kitchen and Artswords Writer's Cafe now cost £2 per session, but grants are available for those who cannot afford the costs.

Here's your weekly update:

This week's Extra Task:
Continue from the Main Task - On 15th July, 971, according to Legend, English Saint Swithin was reburied inside Winchester Cathedral, against his wishes.  He did leave behind a written Will, but on his deathbed he made it clear he did not want to be buried in Winchester Cathedral, instead he wanted to be buried in the Churchyard outside the Old Minster.  A terrible storm then reigned down for 40 days, and 40 nights. TASK:  When someone/something goes against your wishes, which Legend would you reign down on them, and why?

Sneaky peek at next Week's Tasks:
Don't forget, next week we will be swapping the Hub for the fresh air!  We will be meeting at the Town Gardens, by the Band Stand at 10.30am.  Bring along your own creative writing projects, and be inspired by nature.  The weather is predicted to be 27 degrees.  Be mindful that temperatures do change on a regular basis so it could be hotter by next week.  Penni will be providing some snacks, but we recommend you bring your own packed lunch, and drinks.  Also, don't forget to bring some sun screen.

IMPORTANT DATES FOR THE DIARY:
WEDNESDAY 22ND JULY - Group will still be running, but our venue changes for this week only.
This week we will be going to the Town Gardens.  Writing in nature is a wonderful, calming experience full of inspiration.  Penni is kindly bringing some snacks, but you will need to supply your own water, soft drinks, and lunch.  There is also a cafe in the Town Gardens as well.  We'll be meeting up at the bandstand, but I will send out a separate email nearer the time, including Bus Stops, Routes, and Bus Numbers.
