Dear Writers,
The next Words on Wednesday session will run for 1hr and 30minutes. We can't run it for 2 hours as we have prior commitments.
Please be aware that Artswords will be taking a break for the whole of August, and will return in September. Words on Wednesday would like to thank Matt and the team for organising such amazing events, and working so hard behind the scenes. We hope you enjoy your holidays, and we look forward to seeing you again in September.
Please note that we cannot confirm Artswords dates until we receive Artswords Newsletter on the 1st day of each month, so we really appreciate your patience. Just a reminder that the Artswords Writer's Kitchen and Artswords Writer's Cafe now cost £2 per session, but grants are available for those who cannot afford the costs.

If I were: To fight for freedom.
Main Task: The International Day for the remembrance of the Slave Trade and its Abolition is commemorated annually on August 23rd. It honours the historic 1791 uprising in Saint-Domingue (modern day Haiti) that helped end the transatlantic slave trade. It honours the courage of enslaved people who fought for their own freedom and liberation. TASK: Write a Poem, or Short Story based on historical facts of fighting for freedom.

This is a very exciting evening, where you can sit back, relax, enjoy a drink and listen to a wonderful evening of verse with resident, and guest poets, plus open spots.
