Dear Writers,
Happy New Year to you all x
Please note that we cannot confirm Artswords dates until we receive Artswords Newsletter on the 1st day of each month, so we really appreciate your patience. Just a reminder that the Artswords Writer's Kitchen and Artswords Writer's Cafe now cost £2 per session, but grants are available for those who cannot afford the costs.
Here's your weekly update:
This week's Extra Task:
Freewriting - we thought we would let you decide what you wanted to write for the first Extra Task back.
Sneaky peek at next Week's Tasks:
If I were: A Mr Men or Little Miss.
Main Task: It's been 50 years since the passing of the Queen of Crime, Agatha Christie. TASK: You get invited to a murder mystery party where an actual murder takes place. Try to unravel the chaos that ensues.
Penni and I were in Waterstones after Group, and I couldn't resist buying these:
Apparently they will be bringing more out, they are very amusing, and fun to read.
IMPORTANT DATES FOR THE DIARY:
Write Along Tuesday, (W.A.T) - Central Library, Downstairs
If you are free between 1pm to 2.30pm on a Tuesday, and you are in town, why not join Penni, (Co-Facilitator, Words on Wednesday), for a different style of writing group, by bringing along your own writing projects you are working on.
This is a wonderful time to write with others, rather than by yourself. When writing with other people, you can garner ideas, and help with your writing if you feel stuck. It can be better to write in a group rather than by yourself.
This will only be taking place until February half term, and after that if people are not attending it will be cancelled after this time.

I know we are in January 2026, but it won't be long until we are in May - SWINDON FESTIVAL OF LITERATURE. Make sure you put these dates in your diary: Monday 4th May to Sunday 10th May 2026 - we will provide more information nearer the time.
