Words on Wednesday - 11th February 2026

 Dear Writers,

Please note that we cannot confirm Artswords dates until we receive Artswords Newsletter on the 1st day of each month, so we really appreciate your patience.  Just a reminder that the Artswords Writer's Kitchen and Artswords Writer's Cafe now cost £2 per session, but grants are available for those who cannot afford the costs.

Here's your weekly update:

This week's Extra Task:
After spending 27 years in prison, how does it feel to be released, and how has the world changed?
Sneaky peek at next Week's Tasks:
If I were: A type of bird.  (In the 14th Century, Geoffrey Chaucer, medieval England's greatest Poet, observed birds in courtship rituals on 14th February and wrote "For this was on Saint Valentine's Day.  When every bird comes there to choose their mate."  Humans were soon emulating these love-birds).
Main Task: Valentine's Day - TASK: Define love as you see it.

IMPORTANT DATES FOR THE DIARY:

Write Along Tuesday, (W.A.T) - Central Library, Downstairs
If you are free between 1pm to 2.30pm on a Tuesday, and you are in town, why not join Penni, (Co-Facilitator, Words on Wednesday), for a different style of writing group, by bringing along your own writing projects you are working on.
This is a wonderful time to write with others, rather than by yourself.  When writing with other people, you can garner ideas, and help with your writing if you feel stuck.  It can be better to write in a group rather than by yourself.

This will only be taking place until February half term, and after that if people are not attending it will be CANCELLED after this time.

We are now in February 2026, and it won't be long until we are in May -
SWINDON FESTIVAL OF LITERATURE.  Make sure you put these dates in your diary: Monday 4th May to Sunday 10th May 2026 - we will provide more information nearer the time.

Happy writing everyone!
Regards,
Penni and Sarah
